Apple has made one of the best looking displays on the market right now—the Apple Cinema display. While the tech specs do not necessarily jump out at you, the design certainly does. This would be a great complement to your office if you are already part of the Apple crowd. Now, if they could only make a 46″ TV with the same design, I would be immediately on board.
The displays start at $899. Purchase at Apple.com.

Sony has been hit-and-miss lately with their designs for consumer electronics, but I think the design for the Sony JS Desktop is a winner. Its simple design with a black-and-silver motif would feel right at home in any high-tech interior. And, its Dolby-based surround sound system might make it a good music box for any room. You can read about the device at Gizmodo and purchase at Sony Style. It starts at just over $1,000.

I have been meaning to showcase Supermarket for awhile now, because I think it is a pretty cool place to find unique pieces for the home. So, I figured I would start it off with one of my favorite pieces—the Roller Coaster. It is what it is (or something like that). Cork is a perfect coaster material because it absorbs water and the “Roller” label is just clever enough to be funny. At $10 for 4, it is a cheap way to add a little character to your coffee table.

I was flipping through the new CB2 “yellow” catalog and the CB2 Urban collection (coffee table, end table, and media console) caught my eye. It is made of steel and finished in a carbon color. I found the simplicity of the piece quite striking. It would look great in any modern living room. The coffee table is priced at $250.

Because we are entering the baseball playoff season, I thought I would go with a stock pick that is baseball oriented. So, this week our stock pick is entitled Inside the Green Monster by Brian Fox via stock.xchng. It shows a view inside the Green Monster at Fenway Park. The best part is that stock.xchng pictures are free if you signup for the site. Individual usage does fall within the license for this image, so enjoy.

Nothing goes better with a steak than a cold Rolling Rock.
While it might not be practical to have a steak and beer for every meal, now, thanks to Elsewares, you can at least drink from a beer bottle during every meal. These beer bottle glasses are both environmentally friendly and pretty cool to look at. They are the perfect accessory for every guy’s kitchen. Purchase a set of 4 for $34.

I mentioned before that Stock Art was a good resource for Wall Art. So to follow up on that (and because no one is giving stock picks right now), I thought I would start my first weekly feature—Wednesday’s Stock Pick. But rather than post a financial stock, I would post a piece of stock art that could work well as wall art in your bungalow.
The first in this series is from iStockPhoto and is entitled Balance in Blue. Following the formula from MalekTips, you would need at least the medium size to print at 8×10.

It has been a while since I last featured a threadless print, so I figured this was the perfect time to take a look at there new inventory. The first one that caught my attention was the Rock Out with Your Cock Out print by Simon Massey Di Vallazza.
I have been thinking a lot lately about creating a Rock Band/GH3 room and this would be the perfect start. Throw in some concert posters, a nice size TV, and a comfy couch, and you are done.
This print is $35.

Continuing my search for a new media center, I have started to branch out to manufacturers. Pictured above is the EQ3 Ginger Media Console. It has a dark wood exterior and a simple, modern design.
It features 4 shelves on the exterior to hold AV equipment. The open shelves are a plus when trying to get to your gaming consoles (Hey, not all my consoles are wireless). It also has two drawers in the middle to hold accessories. At 66″, it is a pretty sizable console, so that is also a consideration.
The $550 suggested retail prices is pretty reasonable for this size console. Now, I just need to locate a retailer in my area to see it in person.

I am currently on the hunt for a new media center for my family/media room. Last night, I came across the 64″ Loop Media Center from Crate and Barrel. They also have a 54″ version, but I do not think it will meet my needs.
I need a lot of room because I currently have 3 separate components (one of which is a pretty big receiver). It looks like the 2 cabinets on the right and left will work. I also have a number of peripherals to hide when not in use. The drawers would work well for that. Right now, this media center is top on my list.
I will keep you posted as the search continues.
